Skyblue Online Art Classes with Jane

One of the best online tuition video I have done. The sketching part was so helpful, gave me ideas to take forward on my next projects. Demonstration for painting was excellent and I was able to take it step by step with lots of tips. Great!

Initially I found this subject rather daunting but Jane's suggestions on how to achieve an impression of the scene demystified my uncertainty. Working with a limited palette also simplified the process and her advice on colour mixing and applying the paint were so valuable.

I really enjoyed the bright colours and flicking the paint in this painting. It's great trying something you have never done before.

For this lesson I enjoyed mixing colours and creating many. I wanted the darkest and four colours went in together despite you said many times that three colours is maximum and I created truly ugly soot like black. I tried it without a tracing paper was frustrating. I am learning.

I found this tutorial so inspiring. I would normally dismiss such an image as being too complex. Jane took me through every stage. I learnt so many tips and techniques from scaling up the picture, discovering colour combinations and creating a variety of paint effects. I really enjoyed seeing the picture gradually take shape.

This was hard! To get the consistency of application of paint I put on several layers that meant the picture became darker. I think it might be a good idea to have a session on various transparencies of watercolour hues added to the lesson as a reminder. Still very enjoyable and challenging!

I was glad to have the chance to try to produce a more spontaneous look. Really enjoyed the hints on lifting off in this class. Spattering practice was good but I still need to get this under control

This is a subject I probably wouldn’t have attempted had it not been on the lesson schedule and it helped me a great deal. The hints on drawing were of particular use, and also work on the contrasts between dark and light to get the window to work. I really enjoyed it, despite being wary of the subject at first!

Enjoyable and motivating! A fantastic opportunity during lockdown to get the paints back out! Easy to follow and not too complicated. Looking forward to the next one!

My painting is singing. I am happy. I enjoyed the interpretation of colours, atmosphere and simplicity. Jane’s tutorial is clear and easy to follow and I went back many times as I forget. I really enjoyed the challenge of this painting.

I enjoyed it with limited palette. I like the light hitting the window where you have dabbled off the colours. I like the white of paper left unmarked so that the painting can breathe.

I love the spontaneity of Janes approach which I find hard to achieve. The video is well explained and straightforward with lots of helpful hints.
